There is a good tutorial that teaches you all of the mechanics in a very clear and digestible way, and a decent range of scenarios that can be played either singlepayer (against the computer AI) or via peer-to-peer multiplayer with your Steam friends (both friends will need to have a copy of the game). There is also a singleplayer campaign available, where you play against the computer.
