Gunfire Reborn is an adventure level-based game featuring FPS, roguelite, and RPG elements. Players can control unique heroes—each with different abilities—as they adventure through procedurally-generated levels and pick up randomly-dropped weapons. You can play Gunfire Reborn alone or cooperatively with up to three other players (4-player co-op). Every level is random; each new restart is a brand-new experience. You will meet different heroes and experience new weapons, items, checkpoints, and unique combat rhythms throughout the game.

Characters feel quite different from each other, and have their own playstyle. They all have the same fundamentals, that being 2 abilities, one Primary which has a cool down, and a Secondary that can be used as long as you have enough ru- charges. For me, no one character feels overpower than the other, each one is capable of some cracked runs. The Weapons, oh my goodness, the weapons are very satisfying. Very crunchy and weighted. The animation is superb. One of my favourite examples being a shotgun that has a mouth on the side that you feed childr- fish things as ammo.

The multiplayer experience is great as well. The game actually gets harder the more people there are, similar to Dark Souls. Unlike Risk of Rain, you don’t have to split items and powerups, each person has their own reward pool that they see on their screen. However if you see a weapon or item that would benefit the other person more you can share that item so they can pick it up.

Every single object that you think looks beautiful, had a reason to be there and they’re actually important for the gameplay. There were multiple times where I thought something was purely cosmetic, turned out to be “oh, so that’s why they put it there, that’s convenient.” I know that this is a standard for games, but the fact that Nomada Studio managed to create levels that feel satisfying to go through, while also made them look like a giant contemporary artwork without sacrificing my experience, is impressive.
