Just completed Episode 1 and I have to say it delivers on why I’ve been excited to play. It almost felt like Christmas morning when I saw it release today. Anyway, this reminds me a lot of Unheard, so check that on Steam.
+ Believable characters.
+ Audio ambiance is MWAH (although it overlaps w/ the office ambiance when the Episode 2 intro vid plays).
+ Deductions don’t feel like a barney sing-along- actually a little challenging with all the information you need to .
– An ALT+F4 situation occurs when in the deductions screen (not actually sure what really does it) if you click too fast at some points- whenever the game feels like it- it freezes. I’ve had to redo entire scenarios because of it.
– Nitpick: Tips are invasive and arrogantly place themselves above clues. It shouldn’t be required to turn them off, but you can do so via settings.
– Nitpick: If you want to lay and play, there’d be no way to remap A & D to the mouse.
I know it isn’t really the place, but it never is so I’ll just give credit where it’s due; THANK YOU devs for making the MC a black woman. She’s full of respect, dignity, and you allow her to be vulnerable. She’s poised and sophisticated, not a beastly stereotype or a walking myth. It means a lot.
