This game absolutely rules if you like mecha. Having watched about half of the series contained, I got to clap my hands countless times as my favorite characters used my favorite attacks to kill my favorite villains.The DLC bumped this up even more by giving me Voltes V and some other cool characters, and the nice thing is that the DLC characters get to chime in here and there during the main mission plot, even if they don’t majorly influence anything.
By hour 50 I was begging for it to be over and the game laughed in my face. If you’re a completionist like me who is incapable of skipping/missing anything, you’re in for dozens upon dozens of hours of gameplay, as my 100+ hours don’t even include the post-game stuff I’ve just gained access to. Unfortunately, a that content gets quite repetitive, so your mileage may vary as to whether or not the story and crossover interactions are enough to keep you going forward.
Overall, yes I recommend this game, it’s fun and you can easily get your money’s worth in playtime. The biggest issue is that, I’d say this game is not friendly to you if you have limited time, there is miss-able content that would require going into NG+ to get (if there isn’t a mod to force those to trigger), these include playable units, so if you do have relatively limited time and cannot find time to do a NG+ playthrough or a second NG playthrough, I’d maybe stray away, since at least with say Fire Emblem Three Houses, the miss-able content isn’t major gameplay stuff for the most part.
