Way of Corruption discover the start of a tale about a government gone corrupt and our protagonist’s never-ending corruption as he tries to put an end to it. In order to accomplish her goal, our protagonist will find herself in perverse situations all the time. Some of the scenarios our main character finds herself in are/should be good, and the story premise and graphic style are both well done. I’m one of the lucky people who loves a good story and doesn’t give a damn about long paragraphs. If you’re going to bombard us with material, it better be really interesting, compelling writing. Unfortunately, I don’t think this is engaging. This seems more like a text book than something you would pick up for pleasure; you are reading it more for the purpose of fulfilling an assignment. This is a slow-burning molasses game; after more than three years of production, most people would have expected the main character to have accomplished a lot more than she has. Games that involve corruption can be classified as either DUMB or SMART corruption. I am also liking the fact that the MC is a female, but that she has other secondary characters around her, not just her (you even play at some point with a few of the others), which makes the game even more entertaining (because also those story lines give you options to decide which path you will follow). Furthermore, the effort of the developer to be in and listen to his s via discord and patreon (and maybe via here, as well? Don’t know, haven’t tried) and learning that this game has a “one-man army” behind it… wow, it’s fantastic what Shadow Blade has achieved, IMO.
